Drug Dealers in the State of New York

There are 2 different types of drug dealers, and many of these individuals engaging in this criminal activity live and traffic within the borders of the state of New York. They include;

  • Drug Dealers Drug Dealers in the State of New YorkNon User

The non- user can be the more dangerous of the 2 types of pushers, due to the fact that this individual is selling these illicit drugs solely for the money. He/she will have many smaller pushers underneath him/her who are probably addicts. This is the assurance needed that these individuals will always be selling, due to their ‘habits” and/ or addictions. These non- user pushers are very often a part of the drug cartel which is organized crime originating, not only in the United States and Mexico, but also in South America, as well as various Caribbean islands, like Columbia among others.

  • User

Those pushers, who are also users, spend most and sometimes even their entire profits on their habits. They have access to large quantities of drugs, so they keep feeding their addictions with increasing amounts of drugs. They are slaves to the non- user pushers, due to their addictions.

The main differences between those traffickers who are not addicts from those who are addicted, are that of control. In other words, the drug dealers who are not interested in taking these illicit drugs can completely “own” those persons who are addicted. Sad, but true, many addicts actually get trapped in a situation that is ongoing for a lifetime, with no way out!

One reason that New York is so polluted with drug dealers is its accessibility to the rest of the nation and/ or the world. Because of accessibility from highways, waterways, airways, and railways, the drug trafficking into and out of the New York area is easy and convenient. Although local, state and federal authorities are committed to “fighting the war on drugs”; it is difficult and takes time. By the time one case is solved and the drug ring is broken, there is another one to take its place. However, it is predicted that as time goes on, more and more drug trafficking will be curtailed.

The Effect That the Entertainment Business has on Drug Use in New York

Drug use has become more and more popular over the years, partly due to individuals idolizing celebrities and/ or stars. Public figures like Paris Hilton and Lindsey Loan, coupled with teen idols like Miley Cyrus have sent messages to individuals that drugs are glamorous, when in fact they are anything but glamorous! After seeing news releases about Paris Hilton’s cocaine use and Lindsey Loan’s drug abuse, many individuals from the younger generation feel that it is acceptable and okay to engage in such activities. Even Olympic gold medalists, like Michael Phelps, was caught on “You Tube” smoking marijuana. Entertainment Business has on Drug The Effect That the Entertainment Business has on Drug Use in New YorkHe apologized and said that he had made a mistake, however the damage was done. Many young fans had already seen him and felt that if he participated in drug activities, that it was alright for them to do it, too! Yes, celebs do entice their fans to follow in their footsteps, and this has been seen in the past few years. So, how can this be stopped? Well, the news media must quit glamorizing such actions.
The attention that these public figures receive from these drug related activities only maximizes the desire of their fans to follow in their footsteps. Since New York is the entertainment capital of the world, this state is really being hit hard with illicit drug activities.

Another aspect to look at is the way that these entertainment organizations bring in illicit drugs for their parties, etc. They seem to smuggle just about any type of drug into the state of New York without being searched and/ or investigated, only because of their connections and “stations in life’. This is the reason that law enforcement has a hard time keeping a “cap” on illicit drug abuse. With many individuals becoming addicted every day, it is fast becoming a detriment to New York and its society.

So, the next time you see a picture on television of a celeb looking “high”, or a video of a star on You Tube, don’t even watch it; just turn I off. Without the support of viewers, the stations and sponsors will finally get the hint that these negativisms are not popular and quit airing them. Then they will not be so apt to influence those young fans who want to be just like their favorite celeb!

New York Supports Its Dual Diagnostic Treatment Facilities

An individual in New York who suffers with mental and addictive health issues can experience the benefits of a substance abuse facility, when seeking professional help. However, this person must decide  to obtain treatment for an addiction on his/ her own terms, in order for the treatment to have a successful agenda and/ or end result. Many times, an individual is leery or in denial of obtaining the help of a treatment facility, so the inevitable is postponed, due to the fear of the unknown. When this occurs, the mental health and addiction problems of the individual  greatly suffer and can lead to harm for both this individual and/ or others concerned.

Dual Diagnostic Treatment New York Supports Its Dual Diagnostic Treatment FacilitiesThe team of professionals who work at dual diagnosis treatment centers in Idaho, not only are trained and equipped to treat an individual with these problems, but also strive in mending an individual, who has been torn apart due to addiction and anxiety issues. Phobias and disorders, as well as other psychiatric conditions are treated. These dual treatment facilities are also maintained to treat illnesses along with providing a positive environment for the purpose of maintaining an individual’s wellbeing. The qualified and able staff in dual diagnostic centers can make this possible.

It takes a great deal of courage for an individual, who is in dire need of help, to commit to a dual treatment center. Persons who have an involvement in these facilities, all realize the strength that this commitment takes and are supportive to the individuals, thus engaging assistance when needed. These facilities also specialize in “after care “to help those individuals better cope with life after release from the treatment facility. This may include not only counseling and drug treatments, but also more extensive outpatient treatment curriculums. In other words, an individual can still seek help after release, to prevent a problem or when a problem occurs. This person does not need to feel disserted, but can always experience the strength from the center, due to its continued support and/ or assistance.

All in all, substance abuse rehab centers help in the recovery of anxiety and depression issues that are the result of drug addiction and mental illnesses, thus enabling related individuals to be more productive links of society.

The Single Mother and Meth

Marissa was a single mom living with her two sons in the suburbs, right outside of New York City. Her husband, the love of her life, was an electrician and was electrocuted while working for a construction company. He had no “Will” and Marissa was awarded only enough money to barely cover his funeral expense. She and her sons were forced to move from their comfortable condominium into a low-income apartment subsidized in part by the state of New York. Her oldest son, Tommy, had a paper route. Greg, the youngest boy, was only 8, but he tried to help with the newspapers as much as possible. Marissa held down two jobs; however this wasn’t enough to pay the bills. They were constantly getting their utilities cut off. Marissa did not know what to do; she had no family to help with her financial difficulties. One day, she met her friend Pam from high school at the supermarket. Marissa did not have enough money to buy her groceries, so Pam chipped in and bought them for her. This was the beginning of her nightmare!

Single Mother and Meth The Single Mother and MethPam called her the next day and invited her to lunch. They talked about the “good ole days” and Marissa felt great just being out at a nice restaurant with Pam. Pam seemed to have everything; a son, a nice apartment, plenty of money, and a boyfriend who doted on her. Pam told Marissa that she had a part-time job and that Marissa could help her with it. They left the restaurant, and the next thing that Marissa knew was that they were delivering Meth. The delivery was simple, and Pam handed Marissa $ 1000 for a 15 minute drop-off job. Marissa hated the idea of engaging in this illegal activity, but felt she had no other choice. Well needless to say, Marissa got in so deep that she became stressed and ended up using Meth and becoming addicted to it.  From there on out, it was a nightmare! Her boys took care of themselves and became victims of drug dealers that their mom worked for. Finally, Pam was killed! Marissa knew that she had to get out of the situation, before she and her boys were killed, so she went to the police and told them everything that she knew. Marissa became an agent and actually helped to bust the biggest Meth drug ring in the state of New York. She got off of Meth and she and her two boys now live in protective custody somewhere in the United States.  Marissa was lucky, but how many other young single mothers who get sucked into selling drugs, will be as fortunate?
